Collective Dress Haul 2017 |👗

Hey Loves,

It’s Fri-YAY!!! I feel like I have been anxiously awaiting the weekend for a couple of days. Honestly, I do not like to wish the days away but it has been one of those weeks. How are y’all doing? How are things?

Excited to be blogging and vlogging and getting back to me again! There is something about expressing yourself in an unapologetic way. Just being who you are and seriously making no apologies for that! I digress…

Building the confidence to wear dresses again has been an uphill battle. The confidence in dresses is one thing but the confidence overall in this new body of mine is another. More on confidence coming soon. You can always check here for some tips that have worked for me in the past. I did not think I would be able to rock bandage dresses or even mini dresses so this has pushed my fashion in a different direction.

So I recently went on a shopping spree… for some occasionwear for a couple of events I have coming up. These dresses made me feel beautiful and put a smile on my face that did not leave so I knew they were winners! One was my Valentine’s dress… can you guess which one? Let me know which is your fave! Shoutout to SOUNDATION whose new song ‘WAITING’ is used in the video. Link to the song is in video description box!

  1. Hold Your Head Bandage Dress | Dark Orange | Size S | Fashion Nova
  2. Ripple Dress | Black | UK 8 | Lipsy
  3. Mesh Ruched Bodycon Dress | Floral Print | UK 8 | Missguided
  4. Morticia Dress | Black | Size S | Fashion Nova
  5. Plunge Bandage Dress Midi | Rose | UK 10 | Missguided
  6. Kocktails Bandage Dress | Deep Red | Size S | Fashion Nova
  7. Nature Made Dress | Denim Blue | Size S | Fashion Nova
  8. Off the Shoulder Jumpsuit | Grey | UK 10 | Missguided
  9. Nova Boost Jumpsuit | Black | Size S | Fashion Nova with Duster Coat | Pink | UK 8 | Primark

For my thoughts and feelings about Fashion Nova, watch this video below.

Hope you enjoyed this post. I have some beauty related ones coming up for you next as I know my old school followers have missed them!

Appreciate you steady supporting me and I thank you 🙂

Big hugs and extra besos 💋

The Beauty Holder on location… Professional Beauty London 2016

Hey Loves!

Yay for Thursday! It has been a long while indeed since I did an ‘on location’ post. I enjoy being able to take you on some of my movements and I will hopefully be adding some vlogs to my YouTube channel in due course.

So Professional Beauty (PB)London 2016 rolled into town on the 28th and 29th February. By it’s own admission it is ‘the must attend event for Salon and Spa professionals‘. Think hair, nails, makeup, treatments and an awesome reason to network and learn from the best in those fields and more and you have PB in a the smallest nutshell possible.

PB London’s home was ExCel London and you can only imagine the sheer scale of the event if you haven’t been to this venue before. There were over 800 different brands under this supersize roof, showcasing all they had to offer and it certainly didn’t disappoint. I have attended in the past and this year had a bigger and more exciting feel to it. I skipped last year as the time I attended before did not provide much in the way of makeup, which is of course my speciality. This year they had a couple of my favourite brands there which reassured me I made the right decision in attending. NYX, Ingot and Crown Brushes to name a few were front and centre repping for the makeup enthusiasts. The line at NYX appeared to be never ending and was pretty much around corners and alleyways from opening to closing. I did manage to snag some goodies from the show which you will see later. I got to renew my insurance with Babtac at a discounted rate and got a great free gift from Janssen Cosmetics for doing so. Sweet!

The show really is a big draw for those in the salon and spa industry for a couple of reasons. Being able to try out the latest products first hand is a plus in any book. You’re able to get up close and personal in a way that you wouldn’t normally. You can ask questions, watch demos, take part in competitions, try things on, order in bulk and get things at a discounted trade show price, which let’s face it is always a good look. There was no ‘hard sell’ from vendors but rather a whole lot of people who were really excited about their products. The atmosphere was buzzing and infectious. Seeing spray tan teams have pep talks to manicurists give high-5s every time a purchase was made, it truly was an experience. Want custom coloured towels or uniforms? Then you this was the event for you.

As a beauty blogger there was an awesome opportunity to meet other bloggers and vendors who were looking for bloggers. Networking that looks like this takes some of the awkwardness out of approaching people you don’t know. There was a relaxed vibe that just tied it all together. I have made some great connections and am looking forward to big things continuing for The Beauty Holder this year.

My friend Miss Cat Nails debuted her new range at the show and being able to support her in this venture was the glitter on the lips or nails in her case for me. Find out more about her gorgeously amazing nail art here.

Professional Beauty will be all across the UK and Ireland this year with stops in Manchester, Dublin and Belfast. They will be stopping in India, Dubai and South Africa also this year. Worldwide and then some. They will be busy for sure!

If you’re getting overwhelmed at the thought of attending such a huge event like this and haven’t done so before, here are some Beauty Holder tips and other useful bits of info!

  • You do not have to be a professional to attend. You can go as a visitor. So even if you just love makeup or skincare for example you will still find it a great experience.
  • Have a budget in mind. Even with products at a discounted price, you can end up spending unnecessarily and get caught up. Most places accept cards but others are cash only.
  • Make a list of what you really need and find out what vendors will be in attendance. Details are out months in advance and constantly being updated.
  • If you’re a student this is for you!
  • Network on social media and any other way you want to before you attend and find out who and what will be there. Jonathan Cheban (Kim Kardashian’s bestie and Chloe Sims Towie) were there.
  • Take your food and snacks with you. You pay hefty for food and drink there. You have been warned!
  • Be prepared to queue. There is a lot to see and lots of people who want to see it along with you. Put on your comfy shoes.
  • Entry is normally free!!!!
  • There are handouts and freebies galore.
  • Lots of brow and mascara stalls too! By lots I mean LOTS!!

It is a fun day out with friends or your team if you’re able to do it.

You can see I did well to contain myself. From L. to R. Crown Brushes, Ingot Black Gel Liner 77 and my free skin care gift from Janssen Cosmetics. All in a Vegan bag! So excited to try this range so look out for a review coming soon.

Hope you enjoyed your little trip to Professional Beauty London 2016 with me.

Miss Cat Nails | The heart of nail art💅🏾

Hey Loves,

Miss Cat Nails is known in celebrity circles as a professional nail genius and has worked with everyone from Rita Ora to Ellie Goulding and so many more in between. To me she is one of my closest and dearest friends and it gives me great pleasure to blog about her new venture!

Cat has recently taken the plunge and dipped her perfectly blinged out nails into nail accessories. Everything you need to play ‘art attack’ on your nails from glitter to foil, stickers to pearls, I couldn’t think of a better person to create a ‘party for your nails’ than Miss Cat Nails and her business partner, Maria.

I think what makes this line even more appealing is the fact that you do not have to be a nail professional to use the range. Yes, even a nail novice like me can get creative. You can have endless fun with this range making cute and stunning nail art. Simple to use, durable, fashionable and cost effective are just some of the reasons you need this range in your life!

Miss Cat Nails has been in the nail industry for years and her passion is evident in her brand. She has truly put her entire heart into the products  and it is clear that like the very nails she cares for, she will continue to grow! She is gonna take hold of this industry by the nails! Look out for a more in-depth interview with Cat about how she got started with nails and how she got to where she is today.

I am so very proud of you and Maria, Cat. You both have worked extremely hard and it was truly a proud moment seeing it all come to fruition at your first show, Professional Beauty London* last weekend.

The full range is currently available online at Miss Cat Nails as it all things Miss Cat Nails. Look out for the range at a beauty show near you soon and if you are interested in stocking the range please get in touch with her. All details on her site above.

Disclaimer: Please note that all opinions are my own and this review has in no way been affected by my  friendship or association with Miss Cat Nails. The brand and products are really that awesome!

I will be hosting a giveaway on my YouTube channel which will include some goodies from the Miss Cat Nails range at the end of the month. All details will be posted soon!

*Check back for my Pro Beauty London experience at the end of the week!

Hope you enjoyed this post.

See you soon loves!

US Vacation Photo Look Book 2015!✈🚇🚍🗽☀

Hey Loves,

This year has been met with challenges at almost every turn. I am so very grateful for the support and love I continue to receive from my family, friends and indeed at times strangers.

This summer I wanted to take a break from makeup and work and focus on some much needed family time. Along with my Son, I spent most of the summer with my Sister, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family. Nothing like reconnecting your soul with love to recharge and put things into perspective. So easy to take what we have for granted and by that I mean people, love, happiness and friendship. Thank you to everyone who made our trip AMAZEBALLS…you know who you are!

Here is a little video of some of the looks I wore whilst in Florida and New York and the weather was every bit as glorious as my time.

What about you? What did you get up to this summer? Did you get away? Stay home and chill? Let me know!

Hope you enjoy this video as it is a break from the norm and I am hoping to get back into the swing of filming for you soon!

Beauty Is… ❤ featuring Mandisa!

Hey Everyone!

It’s Friday…Yay! That means it is time for another Beauty Is… feature. It has been a couple of months since my last one and the aim is to have one each month. This month I am excited to introduce to you Mandisa (you get beauty just from her name)! One of the great things about blogging is that you meet fellow bloggers with the same interests. Mandisa co-writes a blog, DivinelyRooted about natural hair. It is an honest mix of reviews, advice and life with natural hair. Want to find out more about this natural beauty… then read below!

Beautiful Mandisa

1: Do you wear makeup?!If so, when did you start?

-I do, I started at the ripe old age of 24 LOL

2: How would you describe your makeup style?

-Natural and nude.

3: What product can you not live without? (Skincare or makeup)

-I CAN NOT and WILL NOT live without mascara! It’s the easiest thing thing to do that can brighten up your whole face in like, 26 seconds! I keep buying new ones! I’m up to 6 now 🙊🙈

4: Breakdown your beauty regime?

-For an everyday look? I’m a teacher, so it’s very simple. I don’t have time to do too much. Usually it’s just mascara, because I’m always running late. If I want a beat face, I’ll go ahead and do foundation, highlight, contour, eyeshadow, and more!

5: Who is your Beauty Inspiration or icon?

-Rihanna! Her nude looks are to DIE for and I’m still trying to recreate them.

6: Makeup nightmare?

-Not blending my highlight! Yowza!

7: Any tips or secrets?

-To not get mascara everywhere, stick your finger over your eyelid as you apply.

8: In a sentence or two, explain what beauty truly means to you?!

-Beauty to me encompasses the whole person; body, soul, and mind.

Beautifully Beautiful Mandisa

Thank you so very much Mandisa for being beauty personified and taking part in this feature! Don’t forget you can find out more about Mandisa on her blog, Divinely Rooted.

We have a Lyrical Poet with a beautiful voice in next month’s feature. Don’t miss out. Want to be featured? Just email me info@thebeautyholder.com or tweet me @thebeautyholder

Stay tuned for tomorrow’s blog post!

Have an awesome Friday and weekend!

Two is a Magic Number! Happy 2nd Blogiversary!

Hey Everyone!

So I mentioned in yesterday’s post that it was the second anniversary of my very first post yesterday. I can remember what it was like writing the first blog and thinking I have no clue what I am doing. I know I seem to have a lot to say all the time but I wondered if it would make sense.

The support and love I have received has been overwhelming. I probably put out on average a blog post every month and whilst I would certainly love to blog more often I am still finding my feet. Every time you view, comment, share, like but more importantly enjoy what I have to say, I am thankful. I love when you get in touch and ask questions or tell me what you want to see next on the blog. I love your support for a girl who didn’t know a thing about beauty or make-up (apart from not wearing black lip liner outside of high school). THANK YOU for riding with me after all this time and for giving me the drive to keep on keeping on.

I have posted about times that I wanted to give up and the frustrations of thinking that I wasn’t reaching anyone. As long as one person finds something in my blog then I am happy. I am in a place in my life where I am truly getting comfortable in my skin and that means that I am overjoyed being able to reach one person with my blog!

Check out some of my blogs from the beginning, here  and here and just for good measure, here!

So here’s to another year and another year after that and many more after that. Hope you will continue to roll with me!

Below is my face of the day for International Women’s day! Used my Sleek Eden Palette again (more details to follow).

Thanks guys! You are awesome! Don’t forget you can subscribe to this blog so that you don’t miss a thing. Just put your email to the box on the right!
