Redefining YOUR Beauty…

A Smashbox Full Exposure 📷 Palette Look!

Hey Everyone,

In yesterday’s post the focus was on gem detailing for a fun and simple Carnival inspired look. I did not want to do too much in terms of eye shadows and opted for a very neutral eye look. A look that you can rock should you dance all the gem stones you applied off. In fact with a little touch up you where needed you can wear this look anywhere.

I will be doing a full review on the above palette but can tell you that it is made up of 7 shimmer shades as well as 7 matte ones all in neutral tones that will have you mixing it up to create anything from a light wash of colour to a smokey eye in minutes. For your added pleasure you also get a dual ended shadow and blending brush as well as a sample size Full Exposure Mascara. Another cute touch is the booklet that comes with it that gives you different looks you can create with the palette for your specific eye shape. Super cute! I am all for freebies so good on you Smashbox. This was the first time I used it since purchasing it so look out for the review soon.

Full Exposure              Coral lip loving full exposure look

I have been obsessed beyond the point of return with the Barry M Loud Mouth Extreme Colour in Screamer and so I am wearing it again. Something about Coral shades have me kinda gaga at the moment. It looks kinda pink in this pic so I will have to give it a dedicated post on the weekend. As much as I love my pink shades it is refreshing to go for something out of my comfort zone and I encourage  you to do the same. I get a couple of  comments referring to bold colours not being for my chocolate caramel skin tone and I think, really? I would wear a coral coloured top or dress so why not rock it on my lips. Bobby Brown said it’s My Prerogative and he was not lying!

Here is a little close up of the palette- enjoy!

I gotta tell you it feels good to be back on the blog again. A little weird but good weird as it has been so long and I missed you all. Don’t forget to let me know if you have any looks or anything beauty, skin or make-up related!

Gotta an update (part 2) coming up over the weekend and a look with the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette- which smells like chocolate. This should be interesting!

Thanks for checking out this post!

Have a great day/ evening/ night wherever you are reading this!

DIY Easy Carnival Look!

Hey Everyone,

Somewhere in the world it is Carnival season. Whether you’re in Barbados playing mass at Crop Over or preparing for Notting Hill’s Carnival here in the UK I am gonna share a fun a simple look that is super easy to achieve and pump up your carnival look. You can also rock this to festivals, masquerade parties or wherever the mood takes you!

Carnival DIY

What you need:

  • Eyelash adhesive/ latex adhesive or face adhesive (you can get this from make-up or costume stores)
  • Gems (self-adhesive or non) Glitter
  • Your imagination

The gems I used were not self adhesive and were an assorted colour mix from HobbyCraft.

How to:

  • Using a small amount of glue on the back of your hand or clean surface use tweezers or your hands to pick up the gems.
  • Dip the felt back of the gems in the glue (the tiniest amount is enough)
  • Wait for the glue to become a little tacky and then start sticking them on
  • You can put them anywhere- hands, face- I would avoid the hair though!
  • Apply over your makeup too.

Things to remember!

  • Ensure that your face or wherever you are sticking them is clean.
  • If you apply when the glue is too wet they are likely to fall off or become loose a lot sooner
  • As the day wears on and you sweat or become hot they may move or fall off! Keep a couple extra with you if you prefer.
  • Self adhesive ones have more sticking power so you may find these better.
  • Most lash glue has latex so check that you are not allergic before use.

You can be as simple or dramatic as you want. There is no rhyme or reason to it but to do it. You don’t have to use the same gems or even make a pattern if you don’t want. Do what ever you want to! It’s your face!

The great thing about Carnival is you can be as bold and out there as you want. As I wanted this look simple my eyes are not the focal point. Stay tuned for the look using the Smashbox Full Exposure palette on the blog tomorrow.

I will do a more dramatic carnival look next week…. hope you’re ready! Oh Bacchanal!

Urban Decay’s ⚡ Electric Palette ⚡ : Make-up Look!

Hey Everyone,

If you follow my Facebook page you will have seen a sneak peek of a look using the above palette. I purchased this a while ago but haven’t been able to use it until now. I am sure you know by now that I adore really bold colours and this palette was all that and more.

Perfect for the summer sunshine and anytime really, Urban Decay are infamous for pigmented shadows and they do not disappoint with this one. Electric blues, powerful purples and neon greens and yellows, if you wanna take a walk on the BRIGHT side then you have come to the right place. The looks that you can create with this palette is endless. It is a little pricey at £37, however, I would say well worth it.I didn’t use a primer or base with this look and you can see the colours showed up amazingly.  Some notable dupes would include the BH Cosmetics Party Girl, Sleek Ultra Mattes and Candy Collection palettes. They are half the price and have a good colour payoff. There are others out there too.

So in true ‘Go Big or Go Home’ fashion, here is the look that I came up with. No matter your eye shape or indeed colour, you can work this palette like a pro. I get a lot of questions about hooded eyes, which I have and feeling restricted to looks. Do not let your eye shape deter you. You can amp up the look or play it down. Maybe use the shadows as liner only if you want, how about emphasising your lower lash line or even using one colour. It really is down to you- just make it electric!

I used 4 colours from the palette- Fringe, Urban, Savage and Thrash.

Products used

Products used in the pic above. Lashes are by Ardell (Double up) and Mac’s Prep and Prime highlighter in Peach Lustre. I have posts on my brows, but will be doing an updated version soon. I very rarely do a winged liner on myself because my lid space is very small I

My hair was being deep conditioned so just slicked back into a ponytail.

Let me know if you have this palette and what you think. Do you like bold looks or is this too much for you? Would you like to see more looks like this or maybe a step by step pictorial?

I have a little carnival surprise for the next post. Check out my Facebook page for a little preview using the Smashbox Full Exposure Palette!

Thanks for sticking with me and for checking out this post!
