Although Amelia Maysun Skincare featured in day one of The Beauty Holder’s ‘beauty blogmas’ spotlight, you’re gonna want to know more about this brand. This is not a sponsored post. All products in this review were purchased by me and so you will get my honest thoughts. Full disclosure, Amelia Maysun is a good friend of mine but that holds no weight over here- we give it straight… no chaser!

Why I love this brand!

Amelia Maysun Skincare is created by a Cosmetic Scientist. My friend is a whole Scientist and that’s why I trust what she says when it comes to skincare. She understands your skin on a deeper level. Every layer, structure, and function and that is not an easy task. Let’s be honest, the market is saturated with skincare. What makes me feel at ease with Amelia Maysun’s products is the balance between nature and science. That is an ethos they proudly stand behind, skincare that is backed and founded on both. This small independent brand has done their scientific research and that makes them a force to be reckoned with.

There is often a misconception that high-end skin care is the best. The more you spend the better it is. That is certainly a myth. Amelia Maysun products are high-end quality at affordable prices. The cleansers- £10 for 150ml and it goes a long way. The reusable make up pads are £5. Think about how much you spend on disposable wipes that are no good for the environment. The quartz roller is also £5, which feels like I got it for free.

Packaging: 4.5/5

I can appreciate simplicity in packaging. The products came altogether in a bubble mailer with a lovely thank you/ info card. There was no additional tissue or protection, which is slightly reflected in the score. I can overlook that, however, with the individual packaging of the products. The aesthetic screams luxury without being over the top. The white and muted gold Amelia Maysun branding is stunning and looks and feels first-class. It stands out for all of the right reasons and you are instantly drawn to it. A little opulence without paying out your life savings, sign me up! The cleansers come in a box that mirrors most of the info found on the actual product bottle. The reusable make up remover pads have a comfy, breathable home in a zipped envelope- hygienic and travel-friendly. The Quartz roller comes is a durable box with a foam insert securely keeping it in place.

The reusable pads are heavy-duty and soft on my face and the quartz roller is a great size and sturdy. Certainly worth the purchase, especially if you are focused on a skincare regime beyond cleansers, serums and oils. These tools are great. But I know what y’all are here for. My favourite is by far the cleanser. There are 3 to choose from: Get Even (help even out your skin tone), Break Free (oily, break-out prone skin), and Calm Down (reduce redness and cleanse sensitive skin). Amelia Maysun Skincare has created products that target specific skin concerns and that is super-important for the overall feel and look of your skin. Most women of colour have hyperpigmentation and this product can help even out your skin tone without making you look like a different person. Get Even is lightweight and not oily. I don’t find it drying and it doesn’t provoke my skin (which has the tendency to be quite sensitive). There is no overbearing smell and you don’t need a lot. It gets my face clean without stripping it bare.

You will find a breakdown of the key ingredients used in Amelia Maysun’s products on her website, which makes it easier to understand how science and nature work together for the greater good of your skin. Products are vegan friendly and also kind to the skin. You no longer have to aggressively strip the layers of your face away (without even knowing it) with scrubs and cleansers that have pieces of coconut husks and the like (we ain’t calling out no names 😶). Apart from the products above there is a serum (The One) and oil (launching soon).
