Hey Everyone!

So if you’ve followed my blog from the very beginning, you will not see many nail posts! If I do wear nail polish, it is only one one hand. Not because I can’t paint the other one, just because I am that girl.

When I do mention nails it will generally involve two people. My amazing nail genius friends, Cat Nails and Charli Jepson! I am so excited to dedicate this blog to one of them today, the super talented, creative, funny and beautiful Charli!

I met Charli through Cat earlier this year when we worked together at London Fashion Week. I realised very early on that this blonde haired beauty was quite possibly my twin. She loves the colour Pink as much as I do. We laugh at the same things, have the same interests, are devoted working Mothers and name our handbags ( if you know Charli, you know Priscilla)! Her talent for nails and infectious personality have seen her go from strength to strength and I tell you now, she is one to watch. More than anything, she has a wonderful spirit with the kindest heart.

Charli is a Harmony PhD Master Educator and Freelance Nail Technician. What that means is she trains, teaches and skills you up in all things nails. When it comes to more of her intricate designs she uses just a pin and polish- tell me that is not talent! Want Audrey Hepburn on your nails? Bit of Banksy art? Maybe you would prefer diamonds and crystals hanging from your nails with flashing lights? Then Charli is your girl! Don’t worry if you just fancy a nice red polish, she does that too! 🙂

1. Describe yourself with a ‘song’ or ‘movie’ title. 

The song NOTHING CAN STOP ME NOW 🙂 I like to think this is my moto. 

2. How did you get your start in Nails? How long have you been doing it for?
I HAVE BEEN DOIN NAILS 7 YEARS AND STARTED AFTER HAVING MY DAUGHTER AND GETTING DIVORCED. I WANTED TO DO SOMETHING THAT WOULD WORK AROUND ME STILL SPENDING QUALITY TIME WITH HER AND LOVED THE BEAUTY INDUSTRY. SO TRAINED AND NEVER LOOKED BACK. IT WAS THE BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE I LOVE MY JOB .

3. You create some gorgeous nails. How do you stay inspired and creative?
I WORK WITH SOME PRETTY INSPIRATIONAL PEOPLE, THEY HELP KEEP YOU MOTIVATED AND CAN NOT FAIL TO INSPIRE YOU. MARIAN NEWMAN IS ALSO A MASSIVE INSPIRATION TO ME AND TO BE FAIR MOST NAIL TECHS ARE INSPIRED BY HER WORK SHES AMAZING.STAYIN CREATIVE IS PRETTY EASY AS YOU JUST KINDA MOVE WITH THE TRENDS OF FASHION AND MUSIC ETC, FOR EXAMPLE THE LIKES OF KATY PERRY AND LADY GAGA ARE OUT THERE AN LIKE TO BE DIFFERENT SO CLIENTS TEND TO LIKE YOU TO CREATE A SIMILAR LOOK.

4. What 3 things should everyone know or do when it comes to their nails?

VISIT A GOOD INSURED NAIL TECH FOR TREATMENTS.

NAILS ARE EASY TO MAINTAIN IF YOU SEEK THE CORRECT ADVISE. EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE A BOTTLE OF NOURISH OIL IN THEIR BAG ITS SO GOOD FOR THE NATURAL NAIL AND WILL ENCOURAGE GROWTH AN KEEP A NICE HEALTHY NAIL. 

5. Do you have a favourite nail brand or product?
GELISH! ALL THE NAIL HARMONY PRODUCTS ARE SECOND TO NONE BUT IM MASSIVELY IN LOVE WITH GELISH BECAUSE THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS WITH IT. IT CAN BE USED ON NATURAL NAILS ACRYLIC GEL AND THE DESIGNS YOU CAN CREATE ARE ENDLESS!!! 

6. If you had to choose one nail polish to wear for the rest of your life, what would it be?
OOOH THIS IS A HARD ONE AS THERE ARE OVER 150 GELISH COLOURS TO CHOOSE FROM AND THEY’RE ALL AMAZING! BUT I WOULD SAY GOSSIP GIRL AS ITS PINK AGELESS AND GOT GREAT COVERAGE.

7. You’re a working Mother with a busy successful career, how do you balance it all?
HAHHA I DONT KNOW!!!! TO BE HONEST I TRAINED TO DO NAILS TO WORK AROUND ADONIA AND NOW TRENT IS ON THE SCENE TOO I TRY MAINTAIN A HEALTHY BALANCE BETWEEN WORK AND HOMELIFE. I WORK SOMETIMES 7 DAYS A WEEK BUT ALWAYS HAVE MY EVENINGS AND THEN CAN TAKE A FEW DAYS OFF TO SPOIL THE KIDS. I BELIEVE ME PUTTING IN ALL THIS HARD WORK IS GREAT FOR MY KIDS. IM  MY OWN BOSS AND I LOVE MY JOB AND I WANT THAT FOR MY KIDS! NOT NECESSARILY HAVING THEIR OWN BUSINESS BUT, ITS NICE WAKING UP TO A DAYS WORK AHEAD AND SMILING AT THE THOUGHT. NAIL HARMONY UKS DIRECTORS ALSO HAVE CHILDREN SO ARE VERY FAMILY ORIENTATED, THEY OFTEN ASK ABOUT HOW THE CHILDREN ARE AND ONE OF THEIR DAUGHTERS JAZZ SMEDLEY HAS GONE ON TO ACHIEVE GREAT SUCESS WITHIN THE NAIL INDUSTRY AND EVEN LAUNCHED HER OWN NAIL POLISH BRAND “ALL THAT JAZZ” AT ONLY 17 YEARS OF AGE!!! I THINK HARD WORKIN MUMS AND DADS INSPIRE THEIR KIDS TO WANT MORE AND I TRUELY HOPE MY CHILDREN FEEL LIKE THAT ABOUT ME. 

8. Have you had many celebrity clients? If so, who was your favourite? Whose nails would you love to do?
I RECENTLY DID THE NEW FACE OF BURBERRY NILAM JOHAL AT A TOP SHOP FASHION SHOW SHES BEAUTIFUL AND GORGEOUS AND SURE TO BE A MASSIVE SUCCESS AS A MODEL. ID LOVE TO DO LADY GAGAS NAILS! SHE MAKES ME FEEL CREATIVE BECAUSE SHES SO OFF THE WALL!!!

9. What else gets you excited besides nails?
GOIN ON HOLIDAY!!!!!! I LOVE TO TRAVEL I USED TO SING ON CRUISE SHIPS SO GOT HE TRAVEL BUG EARLY ON AND IT NEVER WENT AWAY. MUSIC ALSO EXCITES ME AND JUST DUVET DAYS WITH THE KIDS!!!!  OH GOSH FOOD TOO!! HAHAHA ID BE SO MISERABLE THIN! I LOVE A GOOD CHINESE AND CURRY! 

10. If you were not a genius nail technician and educator what would you be doing?
I WOULD BE RINGING MY NEAREST EDUCATOR AND GETTING MYSELF BOOKED ON AN ACRYLIC BEGINNERS CLASS AND GELISH COURSE! I TRUELY CANT IMAGINE A LIFE WERE I DIDNT DO NAILS. ITS NOT A JOB ITS A LIFE ITS NOT WORK ITS A HOBBY! IT HELPS KEEP ME SANE AND MAKES ME HAPPY, I DREAD TO THINK OF A LIFE SAT IN AN OFFICE ANSWERING PHONES! IF I WASNT DOIN THAT ID PROB BE SAT IN A CORNER EATING SOMETHIN AND DRINKIN COFFEE!~!!!! ANOTHER PLUS TO BEIN A NAIL TECH IS YOU GET A COFFEE EVERY HOUR!!! XXX
