As part of the Creative Flow workshop at the Mai Lee Beauty Academy we had the opportunity to try our hand at creating wounds, monsters, zombies and more, using Special FX make-up. Our tutor Elias is a master of this and we all had great fun.

It got me thinking…Make-up is not only about creating beauty but some of the scary stuff we see on TV and Film. For some people this is not make-up but instead the face or body they are born with or left with as a result of an accident, skin condition or something else. Make-up is worn for many reasons and you may never know the full reason why. We all have many layers and the outer one may be the only one you ever see!
The old adage that beauty is skin deep may not always apply. Even if you don’t always feel beautiful on the outside, if you are beautiful on the inside, that somehow always shines through.
